Two and a half-hours from Bangkok, lies one of Thailand's premier courses - the Jack Nicklaus designed 18-hole Springfield Country Club of Cha-am.
Opened in 1993, this intriguing course will provide a challenge for golfers of all standards as they thread their way through well-placed hazards to greens of the highest standard.
Accuracy is required at all times as the fairways are flanked by a series of hillocks and covered by a forest of small tree
Course Details
Designed and maintained to the highest international standards, it is recognized as one of the premier golfing resorts in Thailand and was the venue for the 2000 Thailand Open. The second Nicklaus designed 'West course' is planned for completion as future village neighborhoods are developed. The course has been designed to meet the demands of championship golf, however it is an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards as each hole has a minimum of five tees to play from. The Golf learning Center with in - house PGA professionals provides teaching both in the field and in the classroom with video playback and analysis.
The club house, bar, restaurants and terraces command spectacular distant mountain views and overlook the lakes and island green of the dramatic finishing hole to The East course.
The course its self has been designed to meet the needs of a championship course, but maintains an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards. Starting with a par 4 the first hole is a gentle 367 yards from the white tee, and on appearance looks to be quite simple.
Hopes can quickly fade, as the well protected green can prove difficult & requires accuracy. Overall with the cleverly devised layout, views over streams, lakes & the gulf of Thailand, you will find this course very addictive.
