The steep slopes and narrow fairways mean this is a layout for seasoned players on top of their game, who know the meaning of the word strategy.
By contrast, the course is short (especially the par 3s except the 16th) and requires precision ironwork, especially when attacking the contoured greens which all range in size.
Balls ending up too far from the hole can ruin your card, and the rolling fairways and edges of the greens are typical of the architect von Hagge.

As the alternating grass bunkers and sand traps plus the design of the water hazards on five of the holes really make this an excellent course.
