Carlow is a parkland course but has been described as a natural inland links and is one of Ireland's leading courses.
It is laid out in a former wild deer park over undulating terrain with numerous elevated tees, several excellent doglegs, and small slick putting surfaces.
With sandy subsoil, Carlow is playable twelve months of the year.
