Course Details
In a typical setting of Majorca countryside and mountains, Canyamel is a pretty little number designed by Jose Gancedo
The hillier part of the course (the front 9) includes some quite spectacular holes. Rural beauty has been preserved, together with some low walls and even an old farmhouse marking the corner of the dogleg on hole 9.
As with many other courses on the island, Canyamel Golf Course has a layout not to attack without thinking first. Playing safe often gives better results.
If you keep out of trouble, the going is easier and you can save your strength (important here) to negotiate some tricky approach shots to elevated, multi-tiered and well-defended greens.
Very human in length, Canyamel is a golf course you want to play several times, not to understand it (it has little to hide) but to enjoy getting your score down.
Good fun all the way. A course, which is well worth a visit to this remote part of the island.
