40 minutes from the village of Sesimbra is the Costa Azul's best-known golf complex, Aroeira. Aroeira I has hosted both the Men's and Ladies' Portuguese Opens and, thanks to its dense forest setting, is commonly referred to as 'the Portuguese Wentworth'.
The design skilfully blends the needs of a championship golf course with the natural landscape, featuring several lakes rich in bird life. This is one of the best courses in Portugal and a definite 'must play'.
